This small jar with a short neck is one of the most common forms of Sue ware used throughout the entire period. There are two types of jars: covered and uncovered. This is a covered jar that has lost its lid, but unusually has three annular ears on the shoulder. The vessel has a thick wall, and the lower half of the body has been carved, while the upper half has been adjusted by kakime, a process known as “kaki-me.
