Height 10.5 cm, mouth diameter 47.2 cm, base diameter 17.7 cm
This is a large bowl similar to a large bowl with a Tomaribune design in overglaze enamels. It is a rather deep flat bowl with a rounded waist and a slight bow at the top. A fragment of a large dish similar in shape to this bowl was excavated from an old Kutani kiln site, but it does not have the same underglaze blue line around the rim. In the center of the prospect, an eight-lobed window framed in yellow and purple is decorated with two boats, a drying net, and a boat, surrounded by a black oblique line pattern with green glaze on the top to resemble waves. The inner rim is decorated with an eight-petaled compound lotus petal design, and each petal is decorated with a rounded pattern showing a crest or other design within. The red, purple, and yellow overglaze paints are exactly the same as in Figure 1, and the composition suggests that the overglaze painting was done at the same time. Moreover, the yellow overglaze pigment is applied to both pieces. On the reverse side, two lines of underglaze blue are arranged around the hem, and a design of leaves with vines stretching out to the left and right on two sides is represented in a lively manner, but the leaves are overglazed in green and the vines in red.
