This shallow platter has a slightly curved base. The large circular window in the center depicts five Chinese children performing on a stage, with pine trees and clouds in the background. The scene of dancing and music is beautifully depicted and is one of the most outstanding of the Koguryoku figure paintings. The rim is decorated with five windows in the kakusa-ma style, flowers and birds are painted inside, and fine peony arabesques are painted spontaneously on the ground.
The reverse design is similar to that of the “Shu-en” dish (Fig. 53) in the collection of the MOA Museum of Art. The design on the reverse side is also similar to that of the “Shu-en” dish, with Asuka on two sides and Mount Yomogi and flower patterns on two sides. The inscription “Fuku” is inscribed on the base and painted in dark blue.
