Bowl on foot in the shape of open flower with bathing design, enamelled ware

Height 8.3 cm, mouth diameter 25.5 cm, base diameter 15.5 cm
This is a masterpiece representative of Ko-kutani style bowls, but the base is not so high, rather, it is a flat bowl with a slightly higher base. The bowl has a six-lobed floral design with the mouth turned back at the edge, and the twelve ridges in the thick frame are depicted as a nude woman bathing in water poured from a pitcher and a woman offering the pitcher to another woman. This is a very unusual design, perhaps based on a legendary event, but it is not clear. The rim is divided into 12 sections, each of which is decorated with a hozu, shippo, shiho-dasuki, and bamboo motifs on three sides. The outer surface is decorated with a peony arabesque design in purple, yellow, and green, and the high pedestal is decorated with a cloisonne pattern.
The entire piece is decorated with strong colors, and the design and overglaze painting are particularly outstanding in the Ko-Kutani style, with a slightly thicker molding. The inscription in the style of a seal script is written in a double corner of the base, but it is illegible.
