This is a rare large dish in the Ko-kutani blue hand style, with the mouth cut into an eight-petaled flower ring shape. The base is filled with a dense tortoiseshell pattern and covered with a yellow glaze. The slightly wide guard rim is decorated with a peony design on each petal and filled with arabesques on the ground. This type of rim design is extremely rare and unique among Aote Kogutani wares.
