　Many lapis lazuli glazed gourd-shaped tokutas were fired in Arita and were once exported to Europe. However, lapis lazuli glazed ones have also been excavated from Kutani old kiln sites, so some may have been made in Kutani. This one, probably made in Arita, is a superior example of a lapis lazuli glazed gourd-shaped tokutari, with gilt decoration on the front of the vessel.
