Height 39.8 cm, mouth diameter 4.4 cm
In the early Edo period (1603-1868), shakuhachi (bamboo vase) shaped ceramic vases were in vogue, and Sotan had them made in Shigaraki. In the past, Sen no Rikyu made a bamboo shakuhachi flower vase, and this vase is in the same vein. It is a hanging vase with a knot at the top and four holes drilled at the bottom, with a long hanging hole at the top of the back and a curtain seal stamped below it. The interior is glazed and the exterior is burnished with a hint of red.
