Tokyo National Museum
This is a low brazier stand with legs attached to the four corners of the back of the ceramic plates on all sides. In the center of the stand is a circular window, and inside this is a line engraving of a landscape, bamboo and old trees, and around this are also line engravings of poems and writings, although it is difficult to make out the text. The inside of the circular window is unglazed, and the outside is covered with a brown glaze. It is also interesting that the circular window is painted with red ochre to look like a sun. There is a box inscription by Tetsusai, which reads “The tea gathering at Takeda was a gathering of people who appreciated the beauty of nature. After that, the famous potters competed to make tea bowls, and the tea gathering became a tradition. It is a beautiful tea pot that has been handed down from generation to generation, and it is still in use today. The inscription “Also Rokusou Tetsusai” is written on it.
