The inscription praises the craftsmanship and likely indicates that it is a rare piece from ancient times. The potter’s wheel marks are visible, the foot is well-defined, and the craftsmanship is exquisite.
The glaze has an overall blue hue with a reddish tint at the waist, and glaze accumulations add scenic elements in various places. The foot rim is well defined both inside and outside, enriching the tea aesthetic. Four eyes.
This piece was once renowned in Kanazawa alongside Fujaya and Shimoto, and was referred to as “Mitsui-do.”
