This Tokuri-shaped bottle with a flat handle was influenced by Chinese ceramics and appeared in the Sanage kiln in the 9th century. A circular base was first made, and then the body was ground on a potter’s wheel. The earlier the body, the larger the bulge.
The body is decorated with a thin, 箟描(white)flower pattern. The handle also has a double-dasuki pattern.
As a rule, bottles with this type of design are not ash glazed.
