 The shape of this vase has changed considerably from its original form, as the neck of the mouth is slightly larger than the body. The potter’s wheel was used for the molding, and the bottom of the vase bears the marks of a thread cutter.
 The brownish surface is covered with a light green ash glaze that is almost white. Judging from the glaze tone, it was probably produced in an ash glaze pottery kiln in the Tono district of Gifu Prefecture.
