Excavated from Kiln No. 7, Kurozasa, Morowa, Togo Town, Aichi Prefecture, Aichi Prefecture, Japan
8th century
Height 8.4cm, mouth diameter 4.5cm, body diameter 13.5cm, bottom diameter 7.5cm
Honda Collection
The body height is slightly high, but the bottom diameter is significantly smaller than the body diameter. The top of the body is still flat and has inherited the shape of the previous generation, and the width of the handle is relatively narrow. The ash glaze on the handle and the upper surface of the body is well fused, giving it a dark green color. This is a good example of an early Sanage kiln ash-glazed vase.
