This is a small Shōzui-style tea bowl. The rim curves slightly outward, creating a plump, bowl-like shape, and the foot is carved to a small size. The footring is stepped in the Shōzui style, with the glaze scraped away to reveal the unglazed clay. The blue-and-white decoration across the bowl is vividly colored. From the inner rim, pine, bamboo, and plum trees are depicted radiating outward to the rim. On the exterior, six family crests—centered on the Mitsui family crest, which had deep ties to Shōzui—are stylized and scattered across the surface, with a lattice pattern filling the background.
Inside the foot, the inscription “Dai-Nippon Eiraku-zō” is painted in blue within a double circle. This piece was commissioned by the Mitsui family.
