Shorui-style Landscape-Patterned Ladle Stand

Height: 14.5 cm; Body diameter: 5.9 cm; Base diameter: 6.5 cm
This is a shaku-tate modeled after Shonzui ware. It features a unique shape, with six circular holes drilled around the rim and an octagonal base. The upper part of the body is decorated with a landscape design featuring mountains, pavilions, and figures, while the lower part features pine, bamboo, and plum blossoms, as well as floral patterns arranged in all four directions, alternating with geometric patterns such as lattice and sashiko motifs. Inside a double circle at the center of the open base is a two-line inscription reading “Chōtōzan Eiraku-zō.” Although it does not come with its original box, the lid of the accompanying box bears the inscription “Shōzui-fu: Tabletop Vase, for both standing and lying down use” on the front, while the underside of the lid bears the inscription “Made in Shonan, Chōtōzan, by my father Hozen in the summer of [year], signed by Wakane” (with a seal), written by Hozen’s son, Wakane.
