Left (Seal) This tea bowl shares the common style of the series, but features a tea pool in its deep interior. It is fired in a bright red raku glaze all over, though the slip appears to be slightly thicker than is typical for Dōnyū’s red raku tea bowls. The transparent white glaze applied on top forms uneven patches that appear hazy in places, and the character “Raku” is stamped inside the footring. On the underside of the inner box lid, Jushinsai has inscribed “Nonkou Red Tea Bowl, Left (Seal),” and on the lid’s surface, Takusai has inscribed “Nonkou Red Tea Bowl, Inscription by Jushinsai, Left (Seal).”
