Height: 8.4 cm, Mouth Diameter: 9.8–10.4 cm, Foot Diameter: 4.5 cm
As expected, this piece features Ichinyu’s characteristic thin construction, though it appears to be modeled after the Chojiro form: the waist is rounded, the body is slightly tapered, and the rim is drawn inward, with the rim edge finished in a thin, scalloped shape. The foot is small, and a swirl-shaped hood pattern is clearly carved into its interior; the tea pool at the bottom is also small and sloped to one side, yet both elements clearly bear Ichinyu’s distinctive touch. On the exterior, the glaze shows a gentle appearance of red glaze beneath the black glaze, and red glaze is also visible on the interior. On the underside of the lid, Ryoryo-sai has inscribed: “Ichi-nyu-saku Black Tea Bowl, called ‘Saiun’ (Left) (Seal).”
