The bowl is thinly crafted overall and features a richly rounded form. A swirl-shaped “kabuto-kin” (helmet-shaped decoration) is placed at the center of the small foot. The entire surface is covered in black glaze, though vermilion glaze is visible around the middle and on parts of the interior. A spiral pattern is incised along the lower section, with four or five thin vertical lines added to the left and right. The footring bears three small pit marks, and the interior features a deep, round tea pool. Additionally, the Ohi mark is stamped near the edge of the footring. On the side of the inner box is an inscription reading: “Made by Godai Chōzaemon, Black Tea Ware, Certified by the 9th Generation Ohi Chōzaemon.”
