This vase has a well-constructed mouth and a tapering shape toward the bottom, indicating that it belongs to the early stage of plum vase production. It is made of high-quality, nearly white clay, and the molding is truly superb. The design of the upper half of the vase and the shoulder are decorated with the Tomoe design, a common motif in artifacts of the Kamakura period. The ash glaze is a beautiful pale green, almost blue-white glaze, with only a few axes visible on the lower half.
