Kashima Jingu Shrine
This dog was enshrined in a regent shrine within the precincts of Kashima Jingu Shrine, but had long been forgotten. Only one of them is shown in the figure, and there is no A-shaped one. It has a body with a large low-headed body and retains the vestiges of the Yamadai type, but it is similar to the ash-glazed guardian dogs of the Nezu Museum in that it has a decorative band on the chest and shows chest hair, etc. It is thought to date to the middle of the Muromachi period. The iron glaze is a glossy blackish-brown candy glaze.
