Seto ware: small dishes, ash glaze.

15th century
Height 3.1cm, Diameter 12.2-12.8cm, Bottom diameter 5.8cm
Ash-glazed small dishes were used as a set with ash-glazed bowls, and from the late Kamakura period to the mid-Muromachi period, these small dishes have a plain shape similar to that of small mountain tea bowls. Each of these small dishes has a thread-cut mark on the bottom, and the ash glaze is applied only to the inner surface. These small dishes were fired using good quality white clay, and the ash sleeve was applied by brush only to the inner surface. They are well fired and have a beautiful light green color.
