Among the mountain tea bowls of Koseto, there is a type of white, dense clay with a large amount of blown feldspar. They are generally found from the end of the Kamakura period to the beginning of the Muromachi period. They are relatively thinly ground and often have a low, triangular cross section, and some lack a high pedestal. These mountain tea bowls are said to have been mixed with saba, which contains a large amount of silica or feldspar, because of its fine particles and large shrinkage rate.
