This is a porcelain-making material from Igitsushi, Yaotsu-cho, Kamo-gun, Gifu Prefecture, also known as Igitsushi, or Igi-Do for short.
It is also called Igi-do for short. Sendo Kawamoto Jihei of Seto once came to Kaneyama to make porcelain from this clay, probably before he moved to Inuyama. According to Kato Gosuke V, Chikura stone has a bluish tinge, so he used it for white items, and Kawamoto Hansuke and others followed suit. It has a sandy texture like amakusa stone and is called kobodo. It is produced along the Kiso River and is rich in plasticity.
