Most flowerpots are unglazed and porous, usually red in color, but flowerpots for ornamental plants are designed and patterned with gosu or other materials and glazed with a transparent glaze. The base color is white with pores. Bonsai pots used for bonsai are also called bonsai pots, and many of them are modeled after Chinese pots. The shapes also vary according to use: round, oval, square, rectangular, etc., deep, medium-deep, and dish pots, from oversized pots to miniature bonsai pots, and rarely, overglazed pots in rich colors and kurorakuyaki pots.
