Oxen’s Year of Crossing

In the Koryo Pottery section of the Manpo-Zensho, there is an entry for “Various types of oxen’s year crossing medicine”. The pottery fired at the Tsushima family’s Pusan Wakan kiln was first sent to Edo (now Tokyo) and stored in the Soke’s warehouse, and other items appeared on the Osaka and Kyoto markets along with pottery from the Pusan area. The rest of the items appeared in the Osaka and Kyoto markets, along with pottery from the Busan area. The “Manpo-Zensho” (Complete Works of the Manpo-Era) only mentions “a number of them” in the Koryo Pottery section of the “Enpo 4-nen-migari. However, the fourth year of Yeonpo (1676) was the year of the dragon. (Busan Kiln and Taizhou Kiln)
