A potter of the early Edo period. A pupil of Takahara Goroshichi. He was a master of Sakaida Kakiemon of Minamikawara, Arita, Hizen Province, and helped him succeed in his red painting. It is said that Uda Gonbei is the one who is reported as Kuresu Gonbei. (Studies in Ceramic Crafts)
