Kaguyama
Kaguyama

Specialty. Raku ware tea bowl, black, one of the seven types of Kaga Nonko.
The name is probably derived from the meaning of the poem “Hakumyo no koromo hosutefu ten no kaguyama” (“White Mysterious Clothing Hosotefu Ten no Kaguyama”), referring to the scenery of about ten small white rice grain-like dots scattered inside and six outside the black glaze of the tea bowl. This iron bowl-shaped tea bowl is unique among the seven types of Kaga nonkou, and is completely different in shape from the others. It was formerly owned by Kaga Miyatakeya Shosai, then by Koshizawa Tahei, Hirasawa Kisaburo, and Koshizawa Taisuke, and came into the Yokoyama family collection in 1914 (Taisho 3). (Taisho Meikikan)
