　The entire surface of this vase is covered in a magnificent red fire color, making it one of the best Echizen double-eared vases. The flattened, beveled edge of the mouth and the rounded body with sloping shoulders date it to the middle of the 16th century. Kiln marks are painted on the shoulder. The black line running down the lower half of the body is not the original one, but is a later adherence.
