Formerly owned by the Hirase family of Kyoto, it has a box label stating that it was excavated during the Ansei era. This is a typical Nara period jar with a flat body and a high base, as in the Koya Ro example. The glaze is green, yellow, and white in three colors, with a common pattern of white and yellow glaze on a green-glazed staggered bird’s-eye design.
