This is a small hexagonal seven-storied pagoda decorated with three colors (green, yellow, and white). It consists of a base, a platform, and a seven-piece roof cover, and is connected to each other by a central pillar of copper wire that penetrates through a central hole in each section from a hollow in the back of the platform. The glaze radiates in six directions on both the base and platform and extends to the sides, but the reverse side is white glazed with a light green tinge. The base of the base is off-center due to shifting during over-firing. The roof cover alternates in the order of green and yellow starting from the first layer, becoming smaller toward the top. The tower now lacks a shaft (tower body) and a sagirin, traces of which can be seen on the back of the first-layer roof cover. The seven pieces of the roof cover can be classified into two types, the first, fourth, fifth, and sixth layers and the second, third, and seventh layers, from the viewpoint of production technique. In addition, a white marble base and a white marble roof cover of the same shape and size, which are presumed to be the prototype of this pagoda, remain in Shosoin.
