The hiboke (fire barrel) is one of the rare vessels of the Echizen period. It was made by winding up clay cords, the condition of which is clearly visible on the interior surface. The edge of the mouth rim is chamfered by about 1 cm.
The inner surface 9 cm below the edge of the mouth rim has three protrusions 3 cm wide and 2.3 cm long, which are used to support the vessel. The natural yellowish-green glaze is applied from the mouth rim to the upper part of the body, giving the vessel a grayish-white color.
