This vase is in the Sue ware series of wide-mouthed vases, and the gentle curve of the joint from the shoulder to the neck places it in the category of medieval ceramics. The rim of the jar is formed by winding up the clay, and the edge of the mouth is bent outward to form a rounded outer rim. This is one of the oldest jars with a sunken line design. The firing rate is not very high. There is a white sesame ash covering on the shoulder, but it has not been melted.
