Height 51.3cm, mouth diameter 14.5cm, body diameter 35.8cm, bottom diameter 19.0cm
Engraved inscription on the shoulder: “Kouei san koshin september day. It was originally brought to Kyo-o-gokoku-ji Temple and is said to be Tamba pottery, but it is difficult to place it in the Tamba category, judging from the jade-rimmed mouth rim and the shape of the body. The base material and glaze tone are also somewhat dissimilar, giving this jar a feeling of being somewhere between Bizen and Tamba. There are quite a few examples of this type of jar with this type of base material and style, and we would like to examine them all together in the future.
