Height 8.4cm, mouth diameter 11.0cm, base diameter 6.0cm
This tea bowl is similar to “Shunkan”. It has a semi-tubular shape with the mouth rim gently raised and lowered, the mouth held inward, and the body slightly tightened.
The base is low and rather large, with a low “Tomoe” shaped kabukin inside the base, and a shallow tea reservoir at the prospective end. The inside of the bowl is stepped, and the spatula is shallowly spatula-shaped in all directions from the waist to the edge of the base, similar to the “Shunkan” type. The black glaze over the entire body has a brownish-brown finish and does not melt as smoothly as on the “Toshikan” type. The same glaze may have changed in this way depending on the difference in the time when it was drawn out of the kiln. On the back of the lid of the inner box, Kakusai Haraso has inscribed “Snail, Chojiro Tea Bowl, Left (Hanaseki)”.
