This tea bowl is wheel-thrown in a so-called “semi-tubular” shape, and the base is also cut out neatly. What is more interesting here is that the character “Ise” is written in feldspar glaze on the body of this tea bowl, and the character “sai” is written on the prospective side of the body. This tea bowl with “Ise” written on it is clearly a special product of Ise. Ise-temmoku” and this “Oise” tea bowl in a Muromachi period tea ceremony chronicle, as well as the mention of “Ise-temmoku” as a famous product of Mino in “Kefukigusa”, can all be considered to be part of a series of events. It is also clear that this type of bowl, similar to Chojiro ware, was fired in Mino during the Tensho period, and similar shards, but without writing, have been excavated from Oyaya. However, because of its simple vessel shape, it may have been fired in a later period than the Tensho period.
