Tea bowl with tokusa (scouring rush) plant design, E-garatsu type

Height 9.0cm, mouth diameter 12.7cm, base diameter 4.8cm
Tanakamaru Collection
It is a small and tight tea bowl with a deep prospect, the mouth is bent at the edge, the waist is a little strong, and the base is small and plainly carved out. The inside of the base is deeply carved, and the clay around the bottom is comparatively thick. The body is painted on two sides with a design resembling a bandit, and the entire surface is covered with feldspar glaze mixed with earth and ash, except for the area from the base to the waist, where two or three drips of glaze run down to the waist, which is an unskillful scene. The brush strokes of Kizuki, which are carried with ease and elegance, are beautifully integrated into the shape of the bowl. The glazed surface is softly finished, and the tea bowl has a deep tea flavor.
