Idemitsu Museum of Arts
This is a jar in the shape of an arithmetic bowl, which is unique to ekaratsu. The wide mouth is stepped on the inside so that the lid can be dropped over it. The overall shape is gentle and peaceful, and the grass patterns on the two sides of the body are simple and tasteful, harmonizing with the shape of the vessel. The glaze, which was applied to the entire interior and exterior surfaces up to the base of the body, is well melted and browned, creating an unsophisticated scene with large blotches from the mouth to the body. It is probably the work of Koraishin Ichinose.
