This is a Shokotani black karatsu vessel, also with a pressed and distorted mouth. The waist is rounded, the body is tightened, and the base is carved out low. The feldspar glaze applied over the black glaze is thick, giving the entire surface a serpentine scorpion style. The glazed surface is soft, and it is an excellent work for this type of tea bowl.
