Shigaraki Tea bowl, known as “Manriki”

Height 9.9 cm, mouth diameter 11.5 cm, base diameter 6.9 cm
This is similar in style to the previous example, but it is wheel-thrown and the overall workmanship is more vigorous. The mouth is undulated, with a shiitake mushroom-like base, and a thin ash glaze is applied from the waist to the upper part of the body, and then to the prospective view, with a reddish-brown finish. The base of the bowl is reddish-brown and the mark “必” (必) is clearly spatula-engraved within the base. On the back of the lid of the box, there is an inscription by Kakusai Haraso, “Shikaraki tea bowl inscribed Manryokuza (Hanasho)”. This is an excellent Shigaraki teacup with a powerful appearance among Shigaraki teacups.
