Figure, enamelled ware

Figure of woman, enamelled ware

From the Iroe Tenjin Okimono to the Iroe Dolls, which were popular from the Kanbun to Genroku periods, these works are all inferior to what is known as Kakiemon dolls. However, they are all inferior to the Kakiemon dolls, and yet they have a unique Imari charm.
The Tenjin figurine in overglaze enamels is one of the few examples of this type of figurine, and belongs to a rare category among this type of figurines. The chicken figurine in overglaze enamels is in the shape of a chicken, but the base and the chicken are separate. This is one of the best examples of this type of chicken figurine. The colored doll is one of the best among the Kanbun beauties of Imari, wearing a kosode with a chrysanthemum pattern and a briar patterned Uchikake. It clearly represents a prostitute. The colored doll is a male figure with a crest of a tree and a pattern of flying clouds and wave crests. This is an excellent example of this type of male figurine. These dolls were also made for export, and many of them were imported from Europe in recent years.
