This is the most glamorous of the standing dolls in the so-called “Kanbun Bijin” style. She wears a chignon with a large chignon topknot, and her facial expression is elegant for a doll of this type. She wears an elegant kosode with a mesh pattern, and a uchikake (a type of dress with a kimono over it) with a rough design of peach blossoms. The topknot and short sleeve sleeves are typical of the Kanbun style, but the date of production is not that old, probably from the Enpo to Genroku periods. The white base is of high quality, so the overglaze colors of red, yellow, blue, green, etc., are beautifully rendered. In the Edo period, dolls of this type were generally called Imari Kakiemon dolls.
