This is a Chinese chive-shaped sake cup with a narrow mouth twisted back to form a ball-rim and a rounded body. This is a rare example of a Ko-Kutani style Tokutoshi with such a shape. A long, narrow pattern in the style of lotus petals is drawn in white from the neck to the shoulders, the ground is filled with yellow, and the shoulders are covered with an arabesque pattern in dark blue. The white porcelain has a slightly bluish hue with fine intrusions.
