The lid of the box is inscribed “Wakamatsu Chokin Tame Kōchiyaki Kugurō Yamamichi Futa” on the front, and “Zenichirō Zō” is written on the back of the lid, with the Eiraku seal stamped on it, but needless to say, there is no such work in the original Kōchiyaki. Rather, it is a work with a deep tea flavor, and it can be said to be a work of originality in conservation. This is one of the most famous pieces of conservation work from ancient times, with the rim of the lid showing a mountain path-like pattern, and the body and lid both deeply carved with a young pine pattern, which is filled with gold paint. The gold pattern stands out well against the green background, and this is one of the most elegant of the Yongle tea wares. The foot ring is decorated with a horizontal striped border pattern, with small openwork designs in six directions. It is slightly soft and surprisingly light to the touch. The Yongle mark is stamped in the center of the foot ring, which is covered in white glaze, and the “Riverbank Tributary” mark is stamped on the inside corner of the lid.
