This small bowl features a rim shaped like a snowflake. The rim is narrow and the interior is deep. The interior is decorated with a crane standing on one leg within a circle, while the rim is adorned with a wave pattern. The exterior features a lion holding a jewel and peony motifs rendered in deep underglaze blue. Inside the footring, the characters “Daijapan Eiraku-zō” are inscribed within a double circle, also in blue-and-white. On the lid of the accompanying box, “Blue-and-White Snow-Ring Small Bowl” is written on the front, and “Hozen-zō” is inscribed on the back.
