This is a replica of a brush-mark cup originally fired at the Giryongsan Kiln in Korea during the Joseon Dynasty. The shaping of the footring and other details faithfully capture the charm of the original, and the white brush marks applied under the glaze are skillfully executed. Five brush marks are also applied to both the interior surface and the footring.
The lid of the accompanying box is inscribed with “Brush-marked Sake Cup” on the front and “Seal: Hozon-zō” on the back.
