Ina Seito is a general manufacturer of architectural ceramics with its head office and main factory in Ogimushinden, Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture, and branch factories in various locations. Capitalized at 2.5 billion yen, Ina Seito is a member of the Morimura Group of companies, and was founded around 1887 by Hatsunojo Ina, who began manufacturing ceramic pipes, and in 1921 founded the anonymous association Ina Seito Shojo, which was managed by Chozaburo Ina, and officially established as Ina Seito Co. The company has developed into a leading manufacturer of architectural tiles and sanitary ware, but it also produces a large volume of synthetic resin products, with monthly sales of nearly 2 billion yen. Looking at the transition of the company’s products, from the Taisho era to the early Showa era, Ina produced ceramic pipes, electric cable pipes, and tiles (Phase I); from the early Showa era to World War II, tiles, terra cotta, and acid-resistant stoneware (Phase II); and after the war, tiles and sanitary ware synthetic resin products (Phase III). The Ina Chozaburo family has also been a famous family of master craftsmen Chozan since the Edo period. Hatsunojo Ina (5th generation) and Chozaburo Ina (6th generation) were engaged in industrial ceramic production, but the name Chozan was assumed by Gosuke Ina (president of Nippon Toki), the 5th generation Chozan, from the Ina family.
