Enshu Kobori instructed and improved pottery kilns in various regions, of which the seven kilns of Shidoro in Omi Province (Shizuoka Prefecture), Zesho in Omi Province (Shiga Prefecture), Ueno in Buzen Province (Fukuoka Prefecture), Takatori in Chikuzen Province (Fukuoka Prefecture), Asahi in Yamashiro Province (Kyoto Prefecture), Kosobe in Settsu Province (Osaka Prefecture) and Akahada in Yamato Province (Nara Prefecture) are specifically referred to as the Enshu-shichikama. The above seven kilns are listed in the “Pottery Review” and other books, but the “Honbun-to-touro-setsu” excludes Kosobe ware and adds Iga ware to the list.
