Osaka Marutsubo

Osaka Marutsubo

A Chukoh specialty. Koseto, round jar tea caddy. The inscription was chosen by Enshu Kobori. The poem is based on the poem “Aisaka no arashi no kaze wa chilly, yukuhe shirawase wa wabi-tsukare zonuru,” which means that this tea caddy is not satisfactory, but one never knows if one will encounter another one as good as this one. It is the only tea caddy with a round jar of Japanese-style ware as a specialty, and the changes in scenery are so interesting that it is hard to describe. Enshu kept this tea caddy in his treasured collection until the end of his life, and it is said to be a must-see for those interested in the essence of Enshu’s Sukiyoshu style. It is said to be a must-see for anyone interested in the essence of Enshu’s Sukiyaki style. Currently in the collection of the Nezu Museum. (Charyu-sukemakimono, Matsuya Nikki, Taisho Meikikan)
