A porcelain manufacturing company located in Arita, Hizen, Japan, which was spun off from Koransha, a company established in 1874 to mass-produce products for export to foreign countries. In 1879, a factory was established in Kamikouhei, and in 1887, Chujiro installed a new type of pottery making machine imported from France, and the company began supplying porcelain for the Imperial Household Ministry. The quality of his work was so high that his reputation as a model factory spread far and wide, and for a time Arita enjoyed a golden age.
However, in 1886, Suminosuke Fukamai died of illness, followed by Chujiro Kawahara’s death in 1889, and the company gradually declined without a technical leader. Later, in 1905, the factory collapsed due to a major windstorm, and the company was completely discontinued. The inscription used is as shown above.
