1842 (Tendai Meibutsu. Eggplant tea caddy by Han. This tea caddy belonged to Shaogu’s master Sogo Sogoya. It is one of the larger eggplants and has been famous since ancient times for its elegant shape and brilliant glaze. After Sogo, it passed through Oda Sangoro Kakyu and became the property of the Tokugawa Shogunate, but in 1694, Tsuchiya Sagamimori Masanao received it and it has been in the Tsuchiya family ever since.
