The tip of the neck is twisted outward to form a rim band, giving the piece a slightly long-bodied appearance due to the loss of shoulder tension. It is made of iron-rich clay containing fine particles of feldspar, and is well fired, giving it a blackish brown color. It is similar to Iga clay. The yellowish-brown natural glaze that hangs from the mouth rim to the shoulder flows down to the lower half of the body and turns into a candy color at the bottom, showing the interesting change of glaze.
